1. Check out your local community calendar for ideas and available activities in your area. Most cities have many free events going on all the time. Check out your local city hall or library and ask them if they have a listing of community events. Many times, you can get free entertainment, free stuff and free meals just by checking out local community calendars. This is also a superb way to meet people in your local area and find out what's happening.

2. Make your own anti-boredom kit. Take a bag with a handle and fill it full of things to keep you distracted. You could include things like stress balls, cards, a small notepad and pen, crossword puzzles, pocket board games, an eBook reader, a rubiks cube or any other fidget toys. Add some crazy things that make you laugh.

3. Make homemade greeting cards. You can use colored paper, doilies, markers, paint and scrapbooking supplies to make your own dazzling homemade greeting cards for all occasions. Spend some time making cards for different holidays. Then when the holiday season comes around you'll have cards ready to personalize.

4. Go through your closet and try on all your clothing. Put together mismatched outfits, put your shirts on backwards, tie a scarf around your head for a hat and put on mismatched socks and shoes. Then come up with as many different combinations of outfits you can. Next, go through your closet and figure out some real outfits. Put them hanging together in the closet so that when you're in a hurry to get out in the morning, you can just grab a complete outfit.

5. Are you a creative person? Get inventive and design your own cell phone covers. You never know, you might come up with something that becomes the number one

6. Take singing lessons. Do you have a great voice or aspire to have one? Take singing lessons and learn how to fine-tune your voice. Who knows you might just become the next big star.

7. Go bowling by yourself or with some friends. It's great exercise and a good time. Have you ever wondered how you would feel if you weighed 15 pounds less? When you're done bowling, carry the ball around for the rest of the day. This will give you an idea of what you are carrying around 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

One day I needed to move three 50 pound bags of cement out of my way. I couldn't believe how heavy they were and had a heck of a time moving them. What really amazed me was thinking that I had lost over 50 pounds. I couldn't believe I used to carry all that extra weight around. It really made me realize just why I was so tired all the time before. Every time you are tempted to eat junk food, pick up that bowling ball and carry it around for 15 minutes before you decide if you want to go ahead and eat.

8. Printout and frame all your favorite photos. Check out garage sales and flea markets in your area for low prices on frames. You can find frames for as little as 50 cents at yard sales that can easily cost you $10 to $20 each. Spray paint them all the same or different colors.
