3 Ways to Lose "Stubborn" Belly Fat - 3 Quick Tips

Recently, I received this question on my Facebook page from a friend and fan: What, in your opinion, is the best exercise to do to get rid of stubborn belly fat... ?

The following is my answer to this question. First, let us make sure we understand that we cannot "spot treat" fat loss, basically we don't do certain exercises to lose fat in certain areas of our body that we choose. When we lose fat it is a total body process. Yes, we notice certain areas of our body more than others but in order to lose that belly fat you have to ask "What is the best exercise to get rid of FAT, period?"

Now the answer to THAT question is certainly not a short answer and could fill an entire book, but I will attempt to keep it as simple as possible for the sake of this article.

First, the intensity level of your workout is paramount. In order to lose body fat and maintain lean muscle mass (especially in order to diminish that belly fat), your intensity levels must be HIGH and can be quantified in various forms such as the amount of weight used, amount of reps & sets performed, speed at which the workout is performed (in this case you would strive for a shorter workout time but faster speed/pace or shorter/no rest periods until completely done). So you would want to increase the intensity in all or some of the aspects in order to get the most metabolic effect (essentially leading to getting rid of stubborn body fat) out of your workout.

Second, increasing that intensity level benefits FAT LOSS due to engaging your muscles and producing lean muscle mass. Muscle helps with our metabolic effect.

Third, NUTRITION, NUTRITION, NUTRITION, rather than exercise, will be your BIGGEST help in losing stubborn body fat. Proper education and a diet plan catered for you personally would really help. and making it a LIFESTYLE rather than a fad or seasonal thing is IMPORTANT. Only eating right temporarily to lose weight for a time being will only bring you back to square one... wanting to lose that weight again. Can't go in cycles my friend.

More vital than revamping your workout program, is the point at which you truly have a paradigm shift and something just clicks in your mind, bringing you to a conscious decision and deliberate, diligent effort to live your life with better quality... and that includes, dare I say hinges on, our food we consume and how we treat/maintain our bodies.
